A Bit about AMPFit
AMPFit is The First StrongFirst Accredited Gym in Canada, Richmond, BC. They’ve been showing off all of their amazing fitness skill on Instagram and that’s where they were spotted by the Dollamur team. We always love to follow up with clients to ensure that they’re loving their mats and thriving in their business. We spoke with Owen Chau, founder and instructor at AMPFit, and got the inside on their facility, their team and their Dollamur products.
A Bit on AMPFit
We started in 2011 as ‘AMP’ which stands for Always Making Progress. During this time, we provided in-home training and group classes as a martial arts studio. In 2012, we opened our first location and changed the name to ‘AMPFit’ to distinguish ourselves as a physical training studio. We moved to our current location in 2015 and continue to grow and improve alongside our community.
AMPFit was started by Owen Chau, who envisioned a supportive training environment for those looking to get strong and improve their everyday lives.
We offer and teach an array of exercises and movements to help students improve their strength, endurance, balance, flexibility and body composition. All of this is done in a safe, simple and sustainable way utilizing three main tools: bodyweight, kettlebells, and barbells.
Easily rolls up when turf is needed.
The AMPFit Fam
The AMP Instructor team consists of four instructors who are also dedicated students. As a team, we believe that learning is a lifelong commitment and continue to expand our knowledge. We’ve had the opportunity to travel all over the world to both learn and teach. We strive to give our students the best, and that starts with us.

AMPFit & Dollamur
We started off with two sets of 10’x10’ Dollamur Home Mats back in 2012 which served us very well. The quality and reliability of those mats proved to us that Dollamur would be the right choice for our next mat purchase. We now have four 6’ x 50’ custom Dollamur Flexi-Connect 2” Smooth Mats, which gives us tons of room to play. The mats arrived in early April and we couldn’t be happier!
We ordered our mats through a one of Dollamurs distributors, Hatashita. We received excellent customer service and quick response times from your team.
AMPFit rolls out their Dollamur FLEXI-Connect Mats over turf to maximize their space - The mats easily roll up and turf can be accessed in seconds.
The AMPFit Future
Our final comment from Owen was regarding the future of the AMPFit brand - “Our goal is to continue teaching and growing in order to reach a wider audience and show them the amazing benefits of strength training.”
