Iron Strong with Iron Horse BJJ & Dollamur
Iron Horse Jiu Jitsu, out of Alpharetta, GA, is owned and operated by Anthony Budion. After following their journey on Instagram for some time, we reached to go get to learn more about their dojo and how Anthony runs the facility.
A bit about Iron Horse JJ
Iron Horse JJ, started by Anthony Budion, is run through a local Parks and Recs Center in Alpharetta ,GA. “I absolutely love our location. Alpharetta/Milton, GA is currently building another "Downtown" area full of shops and restaurants and we are right in the middle of it all. I hope to stay for a long time and be the place to train in the area.”
We currently offer Gi and Nogi Jiu Jitsu for Adults and Kids ages 8 and up. Besides growing our Adult and Kids program I have a goal of working with the local Police Department to get more Officers into our program. We currently have a few but are offering Free training to Alpharetta PD and discounts to outside Departments.
Our team is fairly new because we got started just before COVID hit. With that being said, we do get some of the area's top competitors that drop in on a frequent basis to train with us!
Dollamur at Iron Horse JJ
We are using your custom sized FLEXI-Roll mats with the built in FLEXI-Connect system and have had them since we started a little over a year ago.
Our experience dealing with Dollamur was outstanding. I was not in charge of purchasing the mats but did direct the woman in charge towards the company. We were looking for a quality mat space that was customizable and easily rolled up and or broken down if need be. This mat system has done a great job in meeting our needs and has held up well so far!
Touched by COVID-19
When COVID hit we did shut down for a little while. We then moved towards trying drills with grappling dummies to avoid contact and doing our best to social distance - but we are glad to be fully opened up now!
Starting a grappling-based business right at the start of the pandemic was tough. We dropped down to only a handful of members at one point. I am really excited to see what the rest of 2021 brings and I believe this year we will really get to see what our program can be. We are already seeing growth as far as members and interest in our program.
The Dollamur team loves hearing from loyal customers just like Iron Horse Jiu Jitsu! Want to see your name in the headline of the next Dollamur news post? Reach out to us on social media for a chance to be featured!
