The recent fear of illness being spread around the globe gives us a great opportunity to take a look at your school’s cleaning protocol. Viruses are most commonly spread with person-to-person contact however some viruses can also be transmitted through non-porous surfaces like grappling mats.
Viruses have different half-lives. This means that after a certain period of time, let’s say 12 hours, 50% of the virus will remain, and then in another 12 hours 25%, and so on. This means that at any point in time an infected student may have left active and infectious cells on your mats or in your facility.
