Iron Horse Jiu Jitsu, out of Alpharetta, GA, is owned and operated by Anthony Budion. After following their journey on Instagram for some time, we reached to go get to learn more about their dojo and how Anthony runs the facility.

At Dollamur, we always love a gym that changes things up and goes against the norm. At Championship Martial Arts, they’re using Dollamur carpet-bonded foam mats, rather than the traditional vinyl mats that are normally used for martial arts dojos. We wanted to see how they were loving the mats and if they were seeing great feedback from their athletes and this is what we learned about Championship MA...

Why are we in the business of martial arts?

Is it purely for the money? Is it because we want to spread the love of the art? Whatever your particular reason is, it is it’s the motivation that drives you to make it in for those early classes, or drives you to put in the long hours doing what it takes to grow your business. The purpose of this article is to help you identify all those different triggers that motivated your students to take the plunge and decide to get sweaty with a bunch of strangers in pajamas at their first martial arts class.

Storm MMA and Training Center first opened on April 1, 2019. The gym originally started as an idea between two friends, who after training together envisioned a place where one could train in any style of MMA and be able to weight train all under one roof. Rarely do we see a gym offer this wide variety of classes, skills and coaches in one facility!

Coach Harman coaches kids as young as 3 years old and focuses on fun and over-celebrating a child’s successes and achievements. “I try to ignore their bad behaviors or failures at that age,” Coach says, he doesn’t want to teach them to fear failures, so all of his attention is focused on their successes.

At the peak of any training season common rashes and infections will occur on sport surfaces. Through-out regular training, mats should be cleaned daily to prevent what is commonly referred to as “Mat Funk,” a combination of infectious conditions such as ring worm, herpes simplex, impetigo, staph infections/MRSA and scabies.

Another beautiful set of mats we’ve recently been following out of Dollamur are the mats that have been created for Bush Jitsu! We got in touch and were lucky enough to speak with Charlie “slim” Kim - a student / competitor at Bush Jitsu that was eager to tell us about their gym, their team and how much they’re loving their Dollamur products.
