At first glance, elite training might look like nonstop intensity. But for Amit Elor, progress starts somewhere quieter.
“People might be surprised by how much emphasis I put on the basics. I spend a lot of time drilling fundamentals and focusing on small adjustments rather than always going hard.”
For Amit, those small adjustments are where long-term improvement is built—layer by layer, rep by rep.
Right now, Amit’s favorite part of practice isn’t about grinding through high-impact sessions—it’s about freedom.
“My favorite part of training is ‘play wrestling,’ basically light sparring. It gives me space to experiment with technique and be creative without putting as much wear and tear on my body.”
That creativity thrives in an environment rooted in mutual respect.
“We push each other, but there’s a lot of respect in the room. Competition is high, but the environment stays positive, which makes it fun and motivating.”
For an athlete training at the highest level, performance is influenced by more than what happens during practice.
“Honestly, sleep makes a huge difference in my training. How I slept the night before really impacts how my body feels and how prone I am to injury during training.”
A successful day isn’t defined by perfection—it’s defined by progress.
“A good training day means showing up fully, giving it my all, and walking away better in at least one way—technically or mentally.”
When every detail counts, the training surface matters.
“I look for consistency, grip, and comfort in a training mat—something I can trust no matter how intense the session gets.”
That trust plays a critical role in longevity and confidence.
“At a high level, small details matter. A quality mat helps reduce wear on your body and allows you to train harder, longer, and with more confidence.”
For Amit, that reliability is why she values training on Dollamur mats.
“They’re dependable and high quality. The traction, shock absorption, and consistency are always on point, which makes it easier to train hard, move freely, and stay focused on getting better.”
A dependable setup does more than support movement—it clears the mind.
“Having a reliable training setup removes distractions and takes a lot of stress out of training. Knowing the mat, space, and equipment will be there lets me focus completely on my goals.”
Wrestling has shaped how Amit approaches growth—both as an athlete and as a person.
“Wrestling has taught me that growth comes from embracing discomfort. It’s taught me patience, resilience, and trust in the process.”
That mindset is what keeps her motivated.
“There’s always something new to improve and learn, and knowing you can never truly stop getting better is what keeps me motivated.”
For younger athletes just starting out, Amit’s advice is simple and grounded.
“Be patient, stay curious, and enjoy the process. Prioritize learning and growth—not just wins—and trust that showing up consistently will pay off.”
As for what she’s working toward now, her focus stays forward.
“I’m focused on continuing to adapt and improve every day, exploring new training methods, pushing myself outside my comfort zone, and evolving as an athlete and a person.”
